You never expected to be here.

Life feels overwhelming. You’re exhausted, stressed, and unsure how to move forward — but you know something needs to change.

  • You struggle with constant worry, negative thoughts, and emotions that feel out of control. You want calm and balance in your daily life.

  • Parenting or relationships feel more difficult than you imagined. You long for connection, understanding, and reassurance.

  • You spend so much time caring for others and meeting their needs, but you’re ready to reclaim time and space for yourself.

  • Painful memories from the past resurface. You want freedom from the weight of past trauma and to regain your sense of power.

  • You feel unheard, unseen, and misunderstood. You’re looking for a safe space where you can be truly heard and supported.

  • Your relationships feel disconnected, chaotic, or even toxic. You want to create healthy, meaningful connections with others.

  • You want to understand why you or your child react in certain ways, and you're seeking answers and insight.

  • You often take on the role of caregiver or helper, but it’s leaving you drained. You want to learn how to prioritize your own well-being.

  • You’re experiencing grief, loss, or major life transitions, and you need support as you navigate the uncertainty ahead.

  • You may not even fully understand why things feel the way they do — you just know that you’re ready for things to be different.

We know you’ve been through a lot…

Life doesn’t always go as planned. Unexpected experiences — including trauma, stress, loss, or relationship challenges — can significantly impact how we manage emotions, cope with daily stressors, and connect with those we love. These experiences often influence how we show up in relationships with partners, children, family members, and friends.

At Mensink Counseling & Consulting, we approach healing through a trauma-informed lens, asking not "What is wrong with you?" but "What has happened to you?" We recognize that past experiences — especially those rooted in childhood or significant life events — shape current patterns in emotions, behavior, and relationships.

Our counseling services support individuals, children, adolescents, and families in:

  • Processing difficult emotions and past experiences

  • Building emotional regulation and coping skills

  • Improving communication and relationship patterns

  • Restoring connection and trust in relationships

  • Managing daily challenges with greater confidence

Through compassionate, collaborative therapy, we partner with you or your child to explore pathways for healing, personal growth, and emotional wellness. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where meaningful change is possible.

If you or your child are ready to begin the healing process, we invite you to contact us and take the first step toward emotional wellness and stronger, healthier relationships.

… and we’re here to help.

“You can't go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending.”

— C.S. Lewis

A Place to Start - A Space to Grow

The journey to healing and wellness begins with you.

At Mensink Counseling & Consulting, we believe in meeting you — or your child — exactly where you are in your healing journey. We honor your strengths, explore the experiences and relationships that have shaped you, and work together toward the growth and change you envision.

Whether you’re beginning therapy for the first time or returning to continue your work, we’re grateful you’ve found us and look forward to walking alongside you as you create meaningful change and lasting growth.

Hi, I’m Angela!

I founded Mensink Counseling & Consulting to meet the social-emotional and mental health needs of individuals of all ages. In my work with hundreds of clients over the last decade, I have come to realize how one’s age and stage in life truly impacts how they see the world and how they cope with stressors and symptoms. Even the youngest of humans — infants and toddlers — can experience challenges related to connecting with others, expressing emotions in healthy ways, and building skills for soothing, calming, and coping. Based on our experiences as a young child, we will either have the skills to navigate adulthood in a fullfilling manner or feel as if we are missing parts of our self or the skills to be completely satisified. We are here to help make things go better for you and your family!

Do you feel you’d like more out of your day-to-day life and develop better strategies to manage life’s curveballs? Or maybe your child is struggling and you want to support them in achieving a more emotionally stable life with secure relationships. We bring a developmental and culturally responsive perspective to the therapeutic space to enhance you or your child’s well-being.

We invite you to connect with us to learn more about how Mensink Counseling & Consulting can help you to overcome social-emotional challenges, dysfunction or insecure attachment in relationships, become “unstuck” in current life roles or expectations, and embrace change and growth to become the best version of yourself. We cannot wait to connect with you!
