Fees + Payment
At Mensink Counseling & Consulting, we are a private-pay practice and do not accept health insurance.
This means services are not billed to insurance companies and are not eligible for insurance reimbursement or out-of-network benefits. All service fees are the responsibility of the client and are due at the time of each session. A debit or credit card is required to be kept on file, and Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) funds may also be used to cover the cost of services.
Why Private Pay?
Choosing private pay offers several benefits, including:
Increased privacy and confidentiality, as no mental health diagnoses or treatment records are shared with insurance companies.
Greater flexibility in the frequency, type, and length of services without insurance restrictions or authorization requirements.
Full control over treatment decisions between you and your provider.
If you are experiencing financial hardship, an in-network provider may be better suited to meet your financial needs. Please note: We do not provide superbills or documentation for insurance reimbursement.

Good Faith Estimate
In compliance with the No Surprises Act, all clients will receive a Good Faith Estimate prior to starting services. This document outlines the estimated costs of your care over a 12-month period. The estimate is not a bill but is intended to help you make informed decisions about your care.
Your provider will review the Good Faith Estimate with you prior to services.
You will receive a written copy for your records and signature.
You will be billed at the time of each service. If your actual charges exceed the Good Faith Estimate by $400 or more, you may have the right to dispute the bill.
